You will always be my little boy.

Miles,

This is hard to do.

As I sit at my desk looking at the jar of marbles, I realize there are no more marbles. They have run out. The jar, once filled with weeks of your high school journey, now stands empty. It feels like just yesterday when a kind woman handed it to me, and now, here we are.

There are so many things I want to teach you that I haven’t taught you. Life lessons, wisdom, and little tips and tricks that come with experience. But I know that some lessons are best learned through living and experiencing life on your own terms.

As you step into this new chapter of your life, I want you to remember that you will always be my little boy. No matter how old you get, no matter how far you go, that will never change.

You have grown into an incredible young man, and I am so proud of you. Your journey through high school was marked by perseverance, growth, and the building of lasting relationships. The marbles may have run out, but the memories and the lessons learned along the way will always remain.

Hold onto the values we’ve tried to instill in you: kindness, integrity, and the importance of family. Embrace new challenges with the same courage and determination that you’ve shown so far. And remember, even when the marbles are gone, our love and support for you are infinite.

You will always be my little boy.

Your Papa
