The world is going to tell you that winning is about getting ahead. More money. More recognition. More accomplishments. More people knowing your name.
Don’t believe it.
You are not winning if you are not leading yourself in the right direction.
There will be people who look successful on the outside but are slowly becoming someone they never intended to be. They may have achieved everything they set out to accomplish, but lost their character, their integrity, their family, or their faith along the way.
That’s not winning.
The hardest person you will ever lead is yourself.
Lead yourself with discipline when no one is watching.
Lead yourself with integrity when cutting corners would be easier.
Lead yourself with humility when pride tells you you’ve already arrived.
Lead yourself toward God, toward your family, and toward becoming the kind of person others can trust.
If you get the direction right, the destination will take care of itself.
I don’t care nearly as much about what you accomplish as I do about who you become.
Because at the end of your life, no one will remember the scoreboard as much as they’ll remember your character.
Win there first.
